WHAT IS UP FOR HEALING? New Moon Feb. 20, 2023 at 2:06 a.m. / and Venus in Pisces
This New Moon comes along in a powerful degree of sidereal Aquarius called Shatabhishak, “the hundred physicians” in Sanskrit, and brings about a healing crisis - not just an illness - in order to unearth deeper karmas. It forces us to make changes, often to our lifestyle and mindset, in order to support the pending transformation.
Rahu, the karmic and eclectic North Node of the Moon that governs this Vedic sign, asks us to think outside the box around what’s arising and how to approach it, and to connect with ancestral medicine, holistic practitioners and forward thinkers. Saturn, the other ruler of this New Moon who is also sitting with it, requires dedication and consistency, and prefers we utilize methods that are tried and true. The Moon is making other connections with tough planets, so we have to dig deep to find the strength we need in order to work with this New Moon energy. Some past challenges are likely to arise, but remember: this Moon’s focus is on on healing, and so suggests we have more work to do on whatever is presenting. This time, we are being asked to take swift action and to look for solutions and remedies in different directions than we’ve gone in before.
This New Moon and its aspects bring an energetic of stepping out of our own way by moving away from our old stories, which are often wrapped up in hurt and past upset that hasn’t been fully resolved. Life sometimes seems to be a series of ego releases, with certain moments (like lately) feeling more intense than others. As we think back to past planetary alignments and knowing many are in a time of internal reorganizing, this New Moon encourages us to focus on identifying “our stories” and our attachments from a new direction. Once we can do this unearthing, release will certainly occur.
This is not to diminish the real hardships people experience with a healing crisis. Imbalances that arise with Satabhishak often times need multiple doctors and modalities to facilitate healing. Moreover, the current planets connecting with this Moon are tough and tricky, and require grit, resilience and focus.
Venus in Pisces with Jupiter
A welcome and sweet shift in the sky (Feb 15-March 11, 2023): Venus has moved into sidereal Pisces to join Jupiter. These planets both operate well in Pisces as it helps them to access their higher expressions of love and trust, and supports the planets’ generous and uplifting sides. This combo loves to be in love and has high ideals for its connections. It should (generally speaking) be a supportive time for relationships. But the challenge this Venus-Jupiter in Pisces faces is it can have such high expectations that no human can live up to that so it can feel let down. If we think of this New Moon’s energy as a healing around our stories combined with the new Venus placement, it begs us to ask ourselves: how much of the challenges we face in our relationships are because we have unrealistic expectations of the other - or of love in general? Are we hoping they will fill the void or heal the hurt that is really our work to do? This Venus-Jupiter connection is a merging of the upper chakras to the lower chakras. Understanding what we need in love to be whole is part of the gift of this configuration. Another hope is that we are able to embody this lovely Venus-Jupiter in Pisces energy and see others (and ourselves) as the transcendent beings we are having a 3D experience, and to love and appreciate all of our efforts even if we still have a ways to go.
