New Moon Rohini 22°05 Taurus June 6, 2024 at 8:37 AM eastern time: Comfort, Creation, Satisfaction
The New Moon is in an exalted degree of sidereal Taurus called Rohini “the red one,” highlights its qualities of kindness, caring and comfort, and brings forth creations with love from the heart. Its governing deity Brahma and ruling planets Venus and the Moon give it the shakti/power of creation. It’s a sign representative of what it’s like to be embodied and on a spiritual path. One of Rohini’s symbols is the banyan tree, whose roots come from above, where it is said Buddha meditated and attained enlightenment. Another is the chariot, reminding us we are the drivers and must be involved on our paths. Another is the temple, an earthly space we go to connect with divinity. The chariot and temple can also be symbolic of the human body - the vehicle through which we get to experience the spiritual. These all remind us of the importance of the journeys we are on, on both the physical and spiritual planes. This is especially resonant this year as the recent eclipse highlighted our paths forward, and while many are shifting gears and pivoting in areas of life.
Even though Rohini is deeply loving and is said to be the sign Krishna incarnated under, its shadow side can manifest as being overly indulgent and not feeling satisfied. With many planets sitting with this New Moon (Venus, Sun, Mercury, Jupiter - a big part of the “parade of planets” we see in the predawn sky), it’s important over the next month to check in around where we feel complete, where we feel lack, and what we want to create.
Some questions to consider now and see how they evolve over the next month and even year (as Jupiter will remain in Taurus until May 2025):
💚What makes you feel uplifted and grounded at the same time?
💚What wants to be created by you / come through you?
💚What is simply too much right now? Will it help to meditate and rest? Or change gears?
💚Do you feel like you are holding the reins of your chariot?
💚Where in life do you feel satisfied?
💚How’s your “temple” feeling?
💚How is your connection with creativity showing up? And to spirituality? Are they linked?
