Jupiter Retrograde has us Reset Intentions from One New Moon to Another: July 28 – Nov 23, 2022
Jupiter in Pisces connects to our spiritual mentors, the uplifting visions we have for the world, our heightened ideals we want to bring into being. While it’s retrograde from July 28-Nov 23, 2022, we get to slow down, reflect on what exactly we want to bring forth, and reset intentions. Jupiter in Pisces has the ability to reach for the stars (https://www.lexneon.com/forecasts/jupiter-in-pisces-transcendence-expansion-and-abundance). While it’s retrograde, we will get look at ideas that may have passed us by since mid-April, and begin to formulate action plans.
Although it can feel like we are dealing with setbacks and delays (and we will at times), we have to remember that retrogrades can give us a chance to catch our breath and reflect on where we’ve been and where we’re going. Retrogrades encourage us to take breaks and brainstorm. A little space is often exactly what we need to get the perspective and vigor back to move forward again. Retreats are an excellent usage of retrograde times as they encourage reflection and reassessment. Nutritional resets and visits with practitioners to address old ailments tend to occur during retrogrades. Getting around to back burner projects is a perfect retrograde expression. We have many retrogrades for the rest of 2022 (see below) so try to look at this as an opportunity to get solid in areas that were possibly rushed by before.
In this specific moment, Jupiter goes retrograde 3 hours after the July 28th New Moon, and then goes direct exactly with the November 23rd New Moon. New Moons are generally good times to take stock and plant seeds, while Jupiter retrograde is usually a good time to reflect on your vision and reset intentions. These energetics play nicely together as they are both comfortable dancing in the realm of feelings and free-flowing visions. What’s interesting is that Jupiter and these “book end” New Moons are both ruled by Saturn. To add to this, Jupiter is also being aspected (or watched?) by Saturn. (You can almost hear the record scratch as Saturn walks into this Lunar/Jupiter in Pisces dance party!)
Saturn takes its position in the corner with its arms folded, making sure things don’t get too out of hand. It likes rules, especially while it’s in Capricorn like it is now until Jan 17, 2023 (https://www.lexneon.com/forecasts/july-13-full-moon-in-uttara-ashadha-keep-focused-you-got-this-/-saturn-rolls-back-into-capricorn). It’s got a nose to the grindstone kind of vibe. Jupiter doesn’t necessarily like to move in this way, especially not while it’s in Pisces, but it doesn’t have much of a choice at the moment. Expansive Jupiter must work with restrictive Saturn if it wants to accomplish the lofty plans it has. Keep in mind, both of these heavy hitter planets are in their own signs, and so there is mutual respect. But Saturn is in more of a power position, and so Jupiter will defer to it in the end. While this may be frustrating at times, Saturn can be very supportive in helping Jupiter to manifest its (our) vision. Saturn is like the general contractor/carpenter who looks at the blueprints and breaks the news to Jupiter that, while the ideas are phenomenal and way ahead of their time, they simply aren’t possible with the tools we currently have. And so Jupiter retrograde goes back to the drawing board to edit and reorganize.
All of the planets are telling us that the second half of 2022 is about slowing down and staying very focused on the things that feel true. With the strong Saturn influence, forward movement will take time, but we can use this time to get our foundation solid and our plans air-tight.
Here’s the list of retrograde dates to note as you make plans. More on these as they approach:
Jupiter is retrograde in its own sign of Pisces: July 28-Nov 23, 2022
Saturn is retrograde in its own sign of Aquarius then Capricorn: June 4-Oct 23, 2022 (https://www.lexneon.com/forecasts/saturn-retrograde-its-ok-to-fall-apart-a-little)
Mercury will be retrograde in its own sign of Virgo: Sept 9-Oct 2, 2022
Mars will be retrograde in Gemini/Taurus: Oct 30, 2022-Jan 12, 2023
Mars will do some fancy footwork we’ll have to keep up with. More details on this soon:
Mars is in its own sign of Aries with Rahu until August 10, 2022 (https://www.lexneon.com/forecasts/mars-rahu-in-aries-june-26-aug-10-focus-on-the-track-or-create-chaos-in-the-field)
Mars shifts into Taurus Aug 10th until March 12, 2023 (a tremendously long time for Mars to stay in a sign), with a welcome month move in Gemini from Oct 15-Nov 13, 2022. During this month of Mars in Gemini, we will get to make some quick forward movement on the solid plans Mars in Taurus will be helping us to diligently create.
Note: Mars will go retrograde on October 30th until Jan 12, 2023. It will be in Gemini for 2 of those weeks, and will then roll back into Taurus on Nov 13th where it stays until March 12, 2023.
