JUPITER in sidereal TAURUS: May 1, 2024-May 14, 2025: Good Things Grow from a Solid Foundation

Jupiter is in sidereal Taurus May 1, 2024 until May 14, 2025, finally bringing solid earth energy into our lives after a year of stimulating and sometimes unstable fire and air elements being prominent. This is a welcome change as the sticky cluster of planets is now moving further apart, giving us more breathing room and a new focus on calm and peace as we move through the next year.

Jupiter is the planet of spirituality and philosophy, of our mentors and most trusted guides, of opportunities and abundance, of feeling optimistic and capable. It encourages us to become better versions of ourselves, where we can grow and expand in alignment with our higher calling, whether it’s achieved through continued education, travel, or meditation and spiritual pursuits. As Jupiter connects to gurus, it’s always supportive to reach out to someone with more experience depending on where it sits in our charts* to guide us as we push ourselves to grow into all we are meant to become (*birth chart or transits).

Jupiter takes about 12 years to go through the signs, so last time it was in Taurus was May 2012-2013. When in Taurus, an earth sign ruled by Venus, Jupiter’s focus is on tangible advancements and abundance, on security and stability, on comfort and calm. This new placement will help us move through our days more slowly and in more grounded ways, and should have a centering effect on the nervous system.

While Jupiter settles into its new sign, many will find the need for more rest and simple ways of grounding. During times of transition, we may even get a little glutinous as Jupiter in Taurus can do, and reach for “kaphagenic” Jupiterian foods – things that are overly sweet, heavy, fried and fatty – to help us slow down since the last few months were hectic and very depleting (see “Cosmic Wellness” webinar: https://www.lexneon.com/media). While this might help in the short term (a little indulgence is ok!) some Jupiter supportive and omega-rich foods to favor are: ghee, olive oil, dates, yams, avocado, chia seeds, chickpeas, yellow mung beans. Visualization meditations are an excellent tool to help us root into our bodies, which is key for this planetary connection over the next year (free visualization download: https://www.lexneon.com/resources). Taurus rules the throat, so incorporating Yoga poses that strengthen the throat, the thyroid and the voice are especially helpful during the next year, like rabbit pose, camel pose or lion pose. And finally, singing and humming are beautiful expressions and easy remedies if we’re feeling stuck. They can strengthen the vagus nerve, quickly change our mood and uplift us. Taurus loves to sing and Jupiter loves kirtan or any kind of devotional practices, so keep the music soothing and the message elevated.

After a time of intensity, the wheels will finally be able to touch the ground and we will be able to get real traction on the ideas that have been spinning over the last year. While Jupiter in Taurus is a time of growth and expansion of our voices, our finances and even our properties, it will be making tricky connections with malefic planets which can trigger our self-doubt and even self-sabotage. Think of these moments as opportunities to look at our old issues with stagnation, doubt and our ability to accept stability and abundance into our lives. This is where a coach, mentor or an accountability partner will be helpful to support us in growing beyond these old habits. Even with the potential challenges (aka areas ripe for healing), this is an excellent time for collaboration and growth-promoting connections with those who want to see us grow and succeed.

PROMPTS: Some questions to consider as we move through the next year:

-Where do you see yourself in the next year?

-What opportunities for growth and expansion have presented themselves?

-When you look to the horizon, what feels like the most exciting road ahead? Is it stable? If not, what practices can help bring about stability?

-What teachers, mentors, classes, travels, spiritual practices, other experiences will help you feel rooted in yourself and help you go the distance?

-Do you have a supportive partner or accountability partner?

-Are you in a place of dreaming, talking and philosophizing? Or are you getting busy planting seeds for a bountiful garden?

-Do you have the patience to watch your seeds grow and for the long-term maintenance required?
