Feb 16 – March 9: Mercury Retrograde: WHAT’S YOUR HEALING CRISIS ABOUT?
One of the benefits of Mercury retrograde is we are forced to pause and reflect. As always, it’s important to review and revise during this time: documents, agreements, plans, our outlook and mindset. Often times during Mercury retrograde, we need to make adjustments. We can revisit old ideas or “back-burner” projects that are suddenly ready for engagement. People and lessons from the past can resurface as a reminder of our connections. Sometimes these Mercury retrograde opportunities for reflection can surprise us and stop us in our tracks.

This retrograde comes along in a powerful degree of sidereal Aquarius called Shatabhishak, literally translating as “the hundred physicians” in Sanskrit, which brings about a healing crisis (not just an illness) in order to unearth deeper karmas. We are forced us to make (lifestyle/mindset) changes, which usher in powerful healing and massive transformation. Rahu, the very karmic and eclectic North Node of the Moon that governs Shatabhishak, is wild, chaotic and beats to his own drum. It likes us to think outside the box and connect with alternative practitioners and forward thinkers. While it may seem there isn’t much to do to prepare for these unexpected events, this retrograde time highlights the “dinacharya” – or our daily routine in Ayurveda – and how it will affect our Mercury systems: the mind, nervous system, lungs.

*The key to success and managing this Mercury retrograde lies in our daily activities.*

The Saturnian influence on Mercury demands structure and commitment. While Rahu is driven when well directed, it desperately needs wiggle room. In your personal life, stick to your schedule as best as possible, while making time for play and rest. This so called “down time” is when Rahu feels free and does its best discovering.

The spotlight also shines on the misalignment we have in our thinking and our connection as a global community. It suggests we are in crisis mode and must take time to review how we interact. We can’t keep plowing forward as we have been. Some unearthing, revealing and new paths will surely emerge during this time.
