Dec 30, 2024 at 17:27 ET: New Moon Purva Ashadha: A New Horizon

The first and last New Moon of 2024 are in same sign, a supportive degree of sidereal Sagittarius called Purva Ashadha, “the invincible star” or “former victor.” This sign has strong intuition, is philosophical, insightful, inspiring. It’s ruled by Venus and Jupiter, the “planetary coaches,” so is naturally tuned in to others and their needs. It’s a generous sign, the “cosmic cheerleader” who is genuinely supportive of others and makes efforts to ensure all “win,” which results in strong interpersonal skills and opportunities for personal development, many times coming from facing challenges with cooperation, patience and flexibility.

Being in the sign of Sagittarius the Archer, this New Moon asks us to look to the horizon for what’s next, what journeys we’re drawn to, and where we are pointing our arrows of destiny. Ruled by Varuna, the lord of the oceans, and Apas, the goddess of cosmic waters which births, purifies and brings (new) life to all, we’re reminded of the importance of slowing down, being in the flow and purging what isn’t healthy or helpful. Purva Ashadha can overextend beyond what’s sustainable, and then reacts by contracting and withdrawing. Finding the balance can be a challenge for this New Moon, but it’s also its message to us.

Take time to listen to your inner guidance. Being near water or simply taking a bath will support relaxation and feeling renewed, as will working with the lymphatic system to help move any stuck or stagnant “waters.” Move your body so the “issues in the tissues” can work themselves out, and so your vision can manifest with greater ease. The New Moon wants us to recalibrate back to what is in highest alignment for each of us, so we can all live our authenticity.

To consider:

🏹Do you have direction? Or do you need guidance?

🏹Are you feeling stuck, stagnant?

 🏹What needs purification?

🏹Are you honoring your inner voice/inner guidance? What does it feel like when you do? Or don’t?

🏹What does “being in the flow” look like in your daily life?

🏹What’s your vision for yourself? For your community?

🏹Where are you pointing your arrow?

🏹What’s on your horizon?

::PEACE::
