Saturday, February 24 at 7:30 AM eastern time: Full Moon Magha 11:11 sidereal Leo: Where is your heart energy called to shine?

The Full Moon is in a powerful degree of sidereal Leo called Magha, the generous and regal one whose name means grand. This Moon is ruled by the Pitris, a grouping of deities connected to our ancestors, to our tribe. It’s a beautiful time to give thanks to our various lineages, to the gifts we see handed down, generation by generation. As the African proverb says: “If we stand tall, it is because we stand on the shoulders of many ancestors.”

But who is in this tribe? Many times those closest to us aren’t born into our lineage, but rather are our mentors and friends who feel most like kindred spirits. This Full Moon reminds us to give thanks to our people, to those who see the depths of all we are, who don’t judge us but honor and hold space for us to embrace our authenticity.

This lunar cycle, which began in Dhanishtha, the sign of rhythm and steady effort, asks us to look at what message we are amplifying, what we are holding up in this world as important, and if it is in alignment with who we are. The strong Saturn and Jupiter connections this Magha Full Moon is experiencing ask us to reflect on if we are being effective with where we are shining our light, or if our voice or message is feeling disjointed, scattered or incomplete. It may feel like the latter for many as this Moon is considered unsupported and can unfortunately feel rather alone. Remember the ancestor proverb in these moments for you are never alone!

We can turn to Saturn and Jupiter for more insight and support as they are the authority planets who encourage us to look at how we can be the most effective in getting our message to the world. Saturn wants simplicity, effectiveness and sustainable tactics. (There are many planets currently in Saturn’s signs so doing as Saturn suggests is key right now!) Jupiter needs elevated purpose and faith behind all it does. Take a moment to look at your current work or ways of expression and connection and see if they are truly effective… or if you’re used to them because they’re what’s been passed along to you, or they’re just what you’ve been doing for so long. It takes courage to branch out and pivot. This Full Moon is connected to the incredible Banyan tree, which gives us the ability to have success far and wide. But we may have to shift and perhaps grow a new root from what we’ve been doing in order to accomplish what we want to do. It doesn’t mean we have to chop down our tree and completely change in order to be true to ourselves. Meditating on our “tree and roots” is supported before moving forward.

We also look to Magha’s governing “grahas” (“to grasp” aka planets), the Sun and Ketu, who remind us to stay in alignment with our soul’s message that was brought to us from previous experiences and incarnations. Ketu asks us to close our eyes and remember who we are, effortlessly. Sometimes we can doubt our true selves because hard life experiences and ancestral traumas can prevail and dull our lights. There is a massive healing that comes when we have the courage to lean into the pain and break old cycles, not just for our own lives, but for all in our path.

The combination of planets influencing this Full Moon gives us the strength us to step further into our mastery, which was a collaboration of ancestral gifts and small and grand efforts of courage on our part. This Magha Leo Moon reminds us to embrace our authenticity and to let the light of our hearts shine.

FULL MOON PROMPTS - questions to consider:

✨What methods are working well for you?

✨What habits are ready to shift?

✨What gifts have you been given from your lineage?

✨What ancestral traumas are ready to be released?

✨What message do you want to share?

✨What are you lifting up and shining a light on?

✨Are you feeling courageous or scared?

✨Are you ready to step into the light?

✨Are you sharing your true self?

Some REMEDIES to support the process:

❤️Write letters of gratitude to your tribes - family, spiritual, soulmates, friends… and to yourself.

🧡Journal about the challenges your lineage endured and lean into how it’s affected you. Saturn invites us to face the difficulty, even embrace the pain so we can recognize it for the strength it’s made us find within ourselves, often times by ourselves. Be proud of how far you’ve come.

💛As my mentor Dr. Vasant Lad says: “the issues are in the tissues.” Leo connects to the heart and solar plexus, 3rd and 4th chakra areas of the body. Heart opening postures are supported such as camel, cobra, bow, boat poses.

💚Physically connecting to the heart by slowly and mindfully massaging the heart area while breathing into your heart space. Focus on the marma points and the intercostal spaces around the heart, which may be tender. You can add an essential oil like rose or lavender to the carrier oil.

💙Receive a hrud basthi (intensified oil application to the heart) from an Ayurvedic practitioner to help open up any blockages, release past sadness and strengthen the overall heart. Ask if an oil infused with Arjuna (an herb that supports the heart functions) is appropriate.

💜Chant the heart bija mantra: YAM

:::PEACE:::
