FULL MOON July 21, 2024 at 6:17am 4°56 Capricorn Uttara Ashadha: To the Top, Step by Step
There will be a Full Moon in sidereal Capricorn in Uttara Ashadha “the latter victor” on Sunday at 6:17am eastern time. Uttara Ashadha has the focus and persistence to see that goals worth doing are given the proper time, focus and enthusiasm. It tends to be an even-keeled sign, and can show up as precise attention and heightened drive. Goal setting and taking steps towards actualizing our visions are very much supported with this beautiful Full Moon ruled by the 10 Vishvadevas, a grouping of deities who remind us through their names that certain qualities are necessary on the path to lasting success. Their names are:
Vasu (goodness), Satya (truth), Kratru (will-power), Daksha (ritual skill), Kala (time), Kama (desire), Dhriti (forbearance), Kuru (ancestors), Pururavas (abundance), and Madrava (joy)
Uttara Ashadha’s ruling planets Saturn and the Sun tell us to not diminish or brush aside our skills and talents, especially those gained through practice, devotion and earnest effort. Instead we’re encouraged to humbly acknowledge them and the dedication we have shown to bettering ourselves in this way. It is also Guru Purnima, the Full Moon that occurs this particular time of year (June-July, in the lunar month of “Ashadha”) where we offer gratitude to those who have nurtured and guided us along our paths. This is an excellent time to send thanks to those who have been your teachers, mentors and greatest supporters.
