April 8, 2024 14:21 PM New Moon/Total Solar Eclipse Revati 25°12 sidereal Pisces: The Roads We Walk

General Eclipse Info

*Eclipses are powerful revealing events that can usher in massive change, especially if they “hit” your chart in a profound way (this requires a reading or knowing the degrees of your planets). Truths that have been hidden come out of the woodwork, often emerging right on the eclipse date or within the months following. We are urged to scrutinize areas of life being highlighted by the eclipse, whether they are up for release, shift or up for further engagement. Eclipses magnify whatever we focus on so use this energy to help further you along your path. Before the eclipse, write down your vision for yourself. Be clear about your intentions. Meditate on this during the eclipse. Eclipses are not supportive times to sign contracts, lend money, or do typical everyday things. Focusing inward on your spirituality is much more aligned with the energetics of an eclipse. See prompts below for journaling support.

APRIL 8, 2024 NEW MOON / TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE

The planets that have been encouraging reflection, introspection and retreat have set us up perfectly for the April 8 Solar Eclipse in the gentle sign of Revati, a degree of sidereal Pisces whose name meaning “wealthy,” reminding us of the multiple ways in which we are all abundant. Revati is kind, highly intuitive, empathetic and sees the good in all. Being ruled by the “professor planets” Jupiter and Mercury, Revati is known as the “bringer of light” and sees opportunities for education and spiritual growth in all we do. It is the bridge between knowledge and wisdom.

Its governing deities are Vishnu the sustainer, and Pushan the great nurturer, who blesses, protects and supports all beings, large and small, along our journeys. Revati genuinely wants to help and uplift those in need. As it’s ruled by ether element and kapha dosha, it can feel boundaryless and strong enough to carry all on its shoulders or shelter all under its wings. While its intentions are pure, Revati’s shadow side, though minimal, is that it can easily overextend itself and end up burned out. And so the challenge this sign can have is understanding what is worth its time and energy, and what is too much. This is one of the lessons/gifts from this eclipse that we will be closely working with for the next 6 months.

In the end, it is about discernment – understanding what paths we are meant to walk and when. Revati rules over beginnings and endings, often one and the same, and has a knack for proper timing. But we can only access it when we set aside space to sit in that divine silence (ether element) so we can receive inspiration, determine what we need, where to put our prana, and what roads we will walk.

The beauty of this eclipse is that it reminds us that all of our journeys – the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, etc – are interconnected, and that one can trigger growth in another – like how a road trip can be a transcendental experience, or what seemed to simply be a vacation can change the course of your life. When we are able to merge these experiences together, we get closer to being whole. We are all really on a path towards mastery and enlightenment.

We look to Revati’s ruling planets, Mercury and Jupiter, to discover how to do this. They are both in Aries during the eclipse, encouraging us to get the mentorship and re-education needed to move forward on the path the eclipse is revealing in our lives. We also look to planets sitting with Rahu, the North Node of the Moon which creates the eclipse. Rahu is sitting with Venus in Pisces, who is happy in its sign of exaltation, creating an idealized view of love and connection, and a strong yearning for a higher level partnership. But may be let down by the reality, so we have to check our expectations in these areas during the next 6 months. Revati is a fertile and creative sign, and this configuration makes for a strong drive to manifest dreams and visions. This is an excellent time for creativity, envisioning and brainstorming for the future… but take caution because Rahu can be hasty and disregard the rules. The lofty dreams and visions that spring from the eclipse time can be exciting and can give us the energy to keep going, but it’s important to have that discernment mentioned regarding what is possible while not losing the magic these planetary connections bring us.

SOLAR ECLIPSE QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:

☀️What path is ending?

☀️What path is revealing itself?

☀️What kind of support do you need to walk this road with success?

☀️What mentors or education will help you?

☀️What do you want to revisit in terms of your education?

☀️Who can you help along their paths?

☀️In what areas of life do you feel wealthy and abundant? What areas need boosting up?

☀️What’s your vision for the next 6 months? How will you get there? Who will be with you for the ride?

☀️How are your boundaries? Since our personal practices directly influence our ability to feel rooted in our Selves and in turn not overextend, are you in need of strengthening in this area first?

☀️ Proper timing, letting go and transcending are Revati’s strengths. It supports us in our beginnings and our endings, which often times are one and the same. What old matters and patterns within yourself are ready to be wrapped up? What new ways are ready to emerge?

ECLIPSE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS:

Do rest and take time for meditation, contemplation, and processing.

Do give yourself space to dream and journal about your ideas and inspirations.

Do check in with yourself to make sure you’re in alignment and not overextending.

Do review old educational paths you’ve taken to see what is asking for your attention again.
Do connect with a mentor so you can make the jump from knowledge to wisdom.

Do take walks, hikes, bike rides, and trips to bring clarity and direction.

Do trust your intuition, especially if you have been sitting with it for some time.

Do give gratitude for your abundance – not just monetary – but in all areas of life.
